Nintendo Makes "Babysitting Tools"

"Playstation chief: Nintendo makes 'babysitting tools'" (Fortune)
Our view of the 'Game Boy experience' is that it's a great babysitting tool, something young kids do on airplanes, but no self-respecting twenty-something is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those.
He also said of the Wii and Kinect:
Motion gaming is cute, but if I can only wave my arms six inches, how does this really feel like I'm doing true accurate motion gaming?
That. Is. Awesome.

Tretton has an ulterior motive in talking down the competition, and Sony's consistent third-place status belies his point, but I love hearing someone rail against the latest gimmicks!

Of course, he goes on to rave about Sony's 3D offerings like that's not a car on the gimmick train. And Sony is heavily invested in portable and motion gaming. Still, funny quotes!
